Policies

Privacy policy

Terpene Republic is a trading name of Hubert Gourmet Pty Ltd (ABN 40 627 453 507). We collect the personal information needed to process and deliver your order — name, delivery address, email, phone — and payment is handled by our payment processor; we never see your full card number.

Marketing

We send marketing email only to people who leave the “email me offers” box ticked at checkout (it starts ticked, and you can untick it before you pay) or who sign up on a form. Terpene Republic and Hubert Gourmet are the same company, so agreeing to emails from either one means you may hear from both, and unsubscribing from either one stops both. Every email carries an unsubscribe link. We comply with the Australian Spam Act 2003 and the New Zealand Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.

Analytics and advertising cookies

We use analytics tools to understand how the site is used and to improve it. These include recordings of how visitors click, scroll and move through pages, with what you type hidden, and cookies that measure whether our advertising works (for example, when you arrive from an ad). For visitors in Australia, New Zealand and most other places these are on by default; visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked first. Anyone can turn them off at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Access and correction

Email info@terpenerepublic.com.au to access, correct or delete your information. We keep order records for at least five years, as the Australian Taxation Office requires.

Service providers, including overseas

We share only what each service needs: our payment processor (Stripe) to take your payment, Australia Post to deliver your parcel, Google to suggest your address as you type it at checkout, our customer-relationship and email platform (where your order, newsletter and enquiry details are kept), a security check that keeps spam and bots off our forms and checkout, our analytics providers, and our website and email hosts. Some of these companies store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Address check

To catch a suburb, state and postcode that don’t belong together, the checkout compares what you type with a list of Australian localities built from G-NAF, the national address file. That comparison happens in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere for it. Incorporates or developed using G-NAF © Geoscape Australia licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia under the Open Geo-coded National Address File (G-NAF) End User Licence Agreement.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email info@terpenerepublic.com.au and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, if you are in New Zealand, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
